Dr Yvonne Thompson CBE DL is a changemaker, activist, and business leader who is breaking down barriers and making the world a better place for women to not just survive but also to thrive.
With a wealth of experience in the communications industry, Dr Thompson is a passionate advocate for small businesses, women, and diversity and inclusion. She is the founder of the WinTrade Global Women In Business Network Summit and Awards, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Dr Thompson’s powerful network supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for greater gender and race equality and equity.
A true changemaker, Dr Thompson has broken down barriers and paved the way for others. She was the only woman on the board of the first 24-hour radio station, Choice FM, and has worked with the government and Ofcom to promote equality and diversity. She is currently the chair of, a charity researching the effects of the entertainment industry, and until Oct 2023, the Chair Black Cultural Archives, custodian of Black History in the UK.
Dr Thompson’s work is making a real difference in the world. She is inspiring others to stand up for what they believe in and to create a more just and equitable society, empowering all to learn more, know more, do more and be more.
