When and where do the events take place?
The Birmingham Black Business Show take place on Saturday 15th June 2024 from 9am – 6pm at the NEC, Birmingham.

Is there parking at the venue?
The Birmingham Black Business Show will take place in Hall 8, which is on the Atrium side of the NEC site.
Exhibitors are required to pay for general visitor parking tickets for any cars that they wish to park on site. Parking can be paid for upon entering or leaving the car parks. The cost of parking will be £16.95 on the day or £12.85 if paid in advance.

Are children allowed?
Under 14s children can attend the event if accompanied by an adult.
Please note during build up and breakdown that the age limit for people attending is 16 and over.

What is a shell scheme stand?
To put it simply, a shell scheme consists of a box-style design supported by vertical aluminium poles, held together by aluminium cross poles at the top and bottom.
What are the setup hours and days and dismantle hours and days?
These timings have not yet been finalised but you can expect the following as rough timings:
- Exhibitors may have access to the hall beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Friday 14th June.
- Exhibits must be set up at least half an hour prior to the opening of the
- Exhibit Hall at 09:00 a.m. on Saturday 15th June.
- The exhibit hall closes at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday 15th June in which dismantling may begin.
When will the exhibitor manual be live?
The exhibitor manual is scheduled to be live in March 2024.
What is a good estimate of my overall expense if I were to be an exhibitor?
The industry uses the formula of three times your booth fees as a good estimate of your overall financial investment when participating in a trade show of our size.
Required expenses:
Public Liability Insurance – no less than £5,000, 000 (five million pounds)
Optional expenses:
Foamex panels are £71.69 + VAT per sqm if pre ordered in advance (if ordered within 21 days the prices increase)
Merchandise/Giveaway – x250 A6 branded notebooks starting from £400 + VAT
Electrics – 1 x 500w Socket Outlet – starting from £160
Can I bring my own pop-up stand?
Yes as long as it will fit within the boundaries of your stand. For full dimensions please see the exhibitor manual or contact a member of the Operations team.

What happens after I have signed up to exhibit at the show?
After signing up you will be contacted by our sales team, who will explain a range of opportunities to help you maximise your exposure pre-show and on-site.
Please note the expected costs as follows:

How do I register my stand personnel?
Via the Exhibitor Hub. You will receive your login details to in an email from our team shortly after your stand is confirmed.
My colleagues are arriving on the first day of the show, how do they get their exhibitor pass?
They can collect it from registration upon arrival after 12pm on Friday 15th June.
How do I invite my customers?
When you log into the Exhibitor Hub, click on the ‘FREE PASSES’ tile and there you’ll find your free passes to use across your show promotion and invite your network.
How many delegates are you expecting to attend the event?
We are expecting 3,000 delegates based on previous events and registration numbers.
Will there be a backdrop for each stand?
We will not be providing backdrops for the stands. If you would like to order one a recommended supplier is https://www.insitegraphics.co.uk/products/exhibitor-graphics/
Can I give out food samples at the event?
Yes as long as they are the correct size. Please see page 28 of the eguide for guidance on sampling.
The NEC offers a number of outlets for food or drinks around the venue. Food or drink purchased in the NEC CAN be consumed within the event hall.

Have I done everything you need?
We do not hold all of your orders here at UKBBS, please contact the necessary contractor to clarify what you have/have not done. We can however advise whether you have completed your Health & Safety Declaration form, Site Rules form, Nameboard form and submitted your profile for the guide. Please contact the Operations department for details.
Where do I order furniture and electrics for my stand?
Via the Exhibitor Hub. You will receive your login details to in an email from our team shortly after your stand is confirmed. See the Exhibitor Manual tab for order forms and deadlines.
What do I need to wear during the build-up of the show and the breakdown?
The Birmingham Black Business Show has a number of Space Only stands, therefore is similar to a building construction site. Please ensure you wear closed-toe shoes at the very least but preferably reinforced toe boots. Under no circumstances can flip-flops or pumps be worn. Long trousers are also advisable.
Can I change the colour of my carpet?
(Shell Scheme stands) Yes, at an additional cost. Please contact the official contractor via your exhibitor manual. Contact details can be found on the order forms and deadlines page in the Exhibitor Manual.

How can I make sure I receive as much exposure as possible?
As an exhibitor, you are entitled to FREE listings in the official Show Guide and on the website, however, to receive these FREE listings, you must complete your 100-word profile along with providing us with your logo.
If you do not complete this form by the deadline for print materials, you will not be listed.
Is there an event app?
Yes, join the Birmingham Black Business Show Slack Group and connect with fellow attendees, speakers and other stakeholders before, during and after the event.
Network and find attendees with common interests, receive updates from the organisers and send in-app messages and exchange contact info.

We only require one, but it must be in a high-resolution format.

How do I feature in the Show Guide?

What makes a perfect press pack?
Press packs should include a relevant press release, background on your company and good, appropriate, captioned photography. It is important to bear in mind that journalists will be interested in news stories, so brochures and other sales materials alone are not suitable. Ideally, all the information should be contained in a clearly labelled folder, CD or USB.
